Blainville, March 27, 2024 – Arbressence, the largest producer of coniferous essential oil in Canada, is pleased to announce its partnership with the MRC of Montcalm, thus strengthening its presence in this sector of Lanaudière. This partnership represents a manifestation of the commitment of the management of the MRC to the sustainable development of its territory and its desire to offer quality services to its citizens.
The MRC of Montcalm brings together the municipalities of Sainte-Marie-Salomé, Saint-Jacques, Saint-Alexis, Saint-Esprit, Saint-Roch-de-l’Achigan, Saint-Roch-Ouest, Saint-Calixte, Sainte-Julien and Saint- Liguori in addition to the City of Saint-Lin-Laurentides. Some cities were already served by Arbressence and this partnership strengthens the company’s presence in the MRC.
In 2023, Arbressence collected nearly 12 tons of cedar scraps in the territory of the MRC of Montcalm, while several municipalities were not yet served. Arbressence therefore encourages the 62,000 citizens of the MRC of Montcalm to use its collection service in order to significantly increase this figure in 2024. Citizens can do so by completing the form available on the Arbressence website or by calling 450-434-7512. They will then only have to place their scraps in piles or bags at the side of the road so that a truck powered by electricity or propane can pick them up within 48 hours.
By recycling cedar scraps, Arbressence contributes to the preservation of the environment by avoiding their sending to landfill sites. In addition, the recoverable residual mulch from the distillation process is reused as ecological backfill, thus offering a second life to otherwise lost material. This approach is part of a vision of a circular economy, where waste is transformed into valuable resources, thus promoting a sustainable and environmentally friendly economic model.
