Arbressence and Énercycle join forces to valorize cedar trimmings in Mauricie

Arbressence, Canada’s largest producer of conifer essential oil, is pleased to announce its partnership with Énercycle, a well-known organization in the Mauricie region that includes several recycling ecocenters. This partnership aims to offer citizens an ecological solution for disposing of their cedar clippings in an environmentally responsible manner.

Starting in spring 2024, Mauricie residents who have pruned their cedar hedges will be able to drop off their clippings at one of Énercycle’s 6 main ecocenters located in Saint-Étienne-des-Grès, Shawinigan, Champlain, Louiseville, Trois-Rivières, east sector, and Trois-Rivières, west sector.

Thanks to this partnership with Énercycle, this valuable material will be transported to Arbressence’s recycling center where it will be revalorized. We hope to divert hundreds of tons of material that would otherwise have ended up in landfills.

This free service will contribute to environmental preservation by reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with the decomposition of organic matter. Arbressence will extract the essential oil from the clippings, and the residual mulch from the distillation process will be used as ecological backfill. Arbressence is proud to partner with Énercycle, a company that shares its values of material valorization and eco-responsibility.

Arbressence encourages all citizens who would like to see their cedar clippings transformed into essential oil to participate in this initiative by bringing their clippings to one of Énercycle’s 6 drop-off points. Together, we can take concrete actions to reduce our ecological footprint and preserve our environment for future generations.
