Blainville, April 8, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 In 2024, the residents of Blainville responded enthusiastically to Arbressence\u2019s call by using the free cedar trimming collection service offered in their municipality. With 4,113 collections recorded, Blainville now holds the highest number of requests among all participating cities and shows a 9% increase compared to 2023.<\/p>\n

The commitment of citizens is undeniable: nearly 18% of Blainville households helped divert close to 432 tons of trimmings from landfills. This participation rate, one of the highest in the program, reflects a genuine desire to take action for the environment and adopt eco-friendly practices.<\/p>\n

A simple, efficient, and eco-friendly service<\/strong><\/p>\n

Between May 1 and October 31, residents can register online to benefit from the free collection. They simply place their cedar trimmings at the edge of their yard, and Arbressence takes care of the rest, picking them up within 24 to 48 hours. Once delivered to the Blainville distillery, the trimmings are transformed into cedar essential oil and reusable residual mulch, which is redistributed to local farmers.<\/p>\n

A collective gesture with lasting impact<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thanks to this initiative, Blainville residents are actively contributing to reducing green waste, preserving natural resources, and lowering landfill costs for their municipality. Building on this success, the partnership between the City and Arbressence continues, with the goal of engaging even more residents in 2025.<\/p>\n
