Blainville, April 10, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 The Marguerite-D\u2019Youville Regional County Municipality (MRC) is proud to announce the renewal of its partnership with Arbressence, the largest producer of conifer essential oils in Canada<\/a>. Building on the success of the first year of collaboration, the partnership continues in 2025 with new initiatives aimed at promoting the circular economy and the recovery of cedar trimmings within the territory.<\/p>\n

As part of this renewal, the MRC has purchased 50 bottles of cedar essential oil personalized with its branding, produced by Arbressence. These bottles will be offered as prizes in draws at the MRC\u2019s booths during municipal events this summer. This initiative will allow residents to discover a local product resulting from an innovative and environmentally friendly revalorization process.<\/p>\n

The MRC continues to encourage residents of the territory to take advantage of the free curbside cedar trimming collection service. To do so, residents simply need to visit the Tri-Facile platform, available on the MRC\u2019s website or through the Google and Apple mobile app stores. After registering, residents only need to place the trimmings in piles or bags by the roadside, where an electric or propane-powered truck will collect them within 48 hours.<\/p>\n

Residents can also drop off their trimmings at the Marguerite-D\u2019Youville ecocenter in Varennes. This ecocenter is an official drop-off point serviced by Arbressence, ensuring the full revalorization of the collected material.<\/p>\n

By transforming cedar trimmings into 100% pure essential oil and recycling the leftover mulch<\/a>, Arbressence gives new life to this natural resource. This circular economy model reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills and actively contributes to the preservation of resources.\u201cThis partnership makes eco-friendly action simple and accessible, and it\u2019s free for our residents. It\u2019s exactly the kind of initiative that reflects our vision of a sustainable, people-focused MRC,\u201d said Daniel Plouffe, Warden of the Marguerite-D\u2019Youville MRC and Mayor of Calixa-Lavall\u00e9e.<\/span><\/p>\n
