Arbressence announces an agreement for the free collection of cedar clippings in all sectors of the City of Mirabel

Blainville, May 3, 2024 – Arbressence, Canada’s largest producer of conifer essential oil, is pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with the City of Mirabel to offer its cedar clippings collection service free of charge to all its sectors.

Kevin Girard, Director of Development at Arbressence, expressed his satisfaction: “We are very excited to have been able to conclude this agreement with Mirabel to be able to serve all sectors of Mirabel free of charge. We hope that citizens will take advantage of our service to reduce the number of tonnes of organic matter sent to landfills.”

Mirabel was already a city where the cedar clippings collection service was offered, but for a fee of $5 per collection. Despite this, many citizens used this service. In 2023, 154 tonnes of material were collected in this area. Arbressence hopes that this figure will increase significantly for 2024, now that the service is free.

Using our collection service allows citizens of Mirabel to divert hundreds of tonnes of material from landfills and to revalue this valuable material by creating cedar essential oil and valuable residual mulch, which can be used as ecological fill. Once again, the City of Mirabel demonstrates its commitment to adopting sustainable practices by partnering with Arbressence.

About Arbressence: With 20 years of experience in cedar recycling, Arbressence is recognized for its commitment to sustainable environmental practices. The company remains a leader in organic matter management, thus contributing to the promotion of sustainable environmental practices.
