Blainville, May 24, 2024 – Arbressence, the largest producer of essential oils from conifers in Canada, is pleased to announce that it now serves the towns and municipalities of the MRC of Joliette. Residents of the municipalities of Village Saint-Pierre, Saint-Thomas, Saint-Paul-de-Joliette, Sainte-Mélanie, Saint-Ambroise-de-Kildare, Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Crabtree, as well as the cities of Joliette, Saint-Charles-Borromée, and Notre-Dame-des-Prairies, will now have an ecological option to dispose of their cedar clippings.
Arbressence is delighted to contribute to the environmental objectives of the MRC of Joliette by offering its cedar clippings collection service. After trimming their cedar hedges, citizens can schedule a collection via the form available on the website or by phone. Arbressence will then collect the material within 48 hours.
This simple and free action will allow citizens to give a second life to their cedar clippings, thus helping to divert hundreds of tons of material from landfills, where it would have emitted greenhouse gases as it decomposed. The cedar clippings will then be transformed into essential oil, and the residual valuable mulch from the process will be redistributed to various partners who will use it as ecological fill, all within a circular economy perspective.
