Blainville, May 15, 2024 – Arbressence, the largest producer of conifer essential oil in Canada, announces its first-ever partnership with the City of La Prairie. This agreement will provide residents of La Prairie with an eco-responsible option to dispose of their cedar trimmings.

After trimming their hedges, citizens can schedule a collection via the form available on the Arbressence website or by phone at 450-434-7512. The Arbressence team will pick up the trimmings within 48 hours. This initiative aims to divert tens of tons of material from landfills, where the trimmings emit greenhouse gases as they decompose.

The trimmings will then be distilled to extract essential oil, and the valuable residual mulch from the process can be used as an ecological fill, all in a logic of material recovery. By offering this service, Arbressence positions itself as an important player in the circular economy, valuing materials and contributing to a sustainable economic model.

This partnership represents one of the green initiatives of the City of La Prairie. Offering this service to its citizens clearly demonstrates the City’s commitment to sustainable development.

About Arbressence: With 20 years of experience in cedar recycling, Arbressence is recognized for its commitment to sustainable environmental practices. The company remains a leader in organic material management, thereby promoting sustainable environmental practices.
