Blainville, April 16, 2024 – Arbressence, the largest producer of coniferous essential oil in Canada, is pleased to announce its partnership with the City of Sainte-Catherine, located in the Montérégie region, to offer a new service to collect cedar scraps from citizens starting April 15.

This collaboration will allow Sainte-Catherine residents to dispose of their cedar scraps in a responsible and ecological manner, by diverting them from landfill sites. Residents will be able to schedule a collection online via the Arbressence website or by phone at 450-434-7512. All they have to do is place the cedar scraps in piles or bags at the side of the road, and a truck will come and collect everything within 48 hours of the request.

By distilling cedar scraps to extract the essential oil, Arbressence is fully committed to a circular economy approach, thus promoting this precious raw material. The residual mulch from the distillation process can notably serve as ecological backfill, thus offering a second life to a material that would otherwise be lost.

This initiative fits perfectly with the City of Sainte-Catherine’s commitment to environmental protection and sustainability. Arbressence encourages all citizens to participate in this collective approach and hopes that they will take advantage of this opportunity to reduce their ecological footprint by avoiding sending these scraps to landfill, where they would contribute to the emission of greenhouse gases. greenhouse during their decomposition.
